This organization provides men with a vehicle for building up the parish community and family life with an emphasis on family, youth, church, council, and community activities.  Visit our web site at www.stliboriuskofc.com

Mission: We are St. Liborius Council of The Knights of Columbus #14562, an organization fortified by the Knights of Columbus history and driven by our goals for the future. We strive to maintain the core values of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Faith is our foundation. We are dedicated to the Catholic Church and her good works. As committed as we are to the Catholic Church, so are we dedicated to helping our community prosper. As Catholic men, fathers and husbands, serving our families is not only part of what we do, it is part of who we are. We provide assistance and support to Knights and their families whenever needed. We assist youth in building a strong sense of civic and religious responsibility. We believe in each other as we believe in ourselves; realizing that by creating a strong, social and supportive council, we help create a stronger future for our order and our parish. It is through these five areas of service- faith, community, family, youth and fellowship- that we truly make a difference.

Lectors:
Lectors are members of the assembly who proclaim the Word of God for Masses offered on Saturdays, Sundays, Holy Days, and other special services throughout the Church year. It is essential that the Lector is comfortable speaking in public and willing to invest time in scripture study and training. There is training provided by the parish.

Mission: We, the Lector Ministry of St. Liborius Parish, serve by proclaiming the Word of God and conveying the Scripture message. We are the windows through which God touches the minds and hearts of His people.

Market Day:
Market Day is a unique and valuable fundraiser. It is the only fundraiser that offers high quality and nutritious food at competitive prices. By doing your grocery shopping with Market Day you are serving your family delicious meals while helping us raise funds for our school.

Marriage Preparation:
In an effort to assure that our Catholic Christian marriages are built on the best commitment possible, we offer a comprehensive process of preparation. This includes: regular meetings with our priest, a premarital inventory, evenings for the engaged, an introduction to Natural Family Planning, and preparation for the wedding ceremony. Married couples are needed to be examples and guides for engaged couples, helping them appreciate and prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage. Meetings are held (as needed) three consecutive Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Men’s Over 30 Basketball:
The Men’s Over 30 Basketball group was created for recreational purposes 10 years ago. We play basketball on Sunday nights during the school year. A fee of $5.00 is collected from those playing and later donated to various Church and school organizations.

Music Ministry (Choir, Children’s Choir & Cantors):
The Music Ministry at St. Liborius is an integral and vibrant component of our liturgies and worship services. Many of our members have never sung in a choir before, but through commitment and rehearsals are able to develop their musical talents. Parishioners who have been blessed with the gift of a musical voice are encouraged to share that gift with the parish family.
The children’s choir is open to all students, grades 4-8. Students meet weekly for a one-hour rehearsal after school to sing as a group for all school Masses and other liturgical celebrations throughout the year.
Mission: The St. Liborius Music Ministry strives to foster the full, conscious and active participation of all present by singing together liturgical songs during the Mass. Through the beauty of music, the congregation may further contemplate God’s word.

Parish Picnic:
Family, Friends, Food and Fun! That’s what the St. Liborius Parish Picnic is all about. For those new to our community, the purpose of our annual Parish Picnic is to strengthen family ties, establish new friendships, and enjoy old ones. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet and mingle with our entire Parish community. There is food, bingo, face painting, games, pony rides and much more. We need volunteers to provide help with the planning, setting up, working of booths, cooking, and cleaning up after the picnic.

Mission: The Parish Picnic Committee is dedicated to the proposition of fun and fellowship for all. We organize the St. Liborius Parish Picnic and provide food, Bingo, games for the kids, pony rides, carriage rides and fellowship for one and all. While we are a ministry unto ourselves, we are a group that spans many ministries, all working together to provide for the parish on this day of enjoyment

Parish Religions Education Program (RE):
Religious education continues the mission of Jesus to bring about God’s Kingdom by proclaiming and teaching our Catholic Faith. Parishioners who assist in PREP are critical to spreading our Faith in the classroom. These volunteers guide children through lessons based on curriculum provided by the Diocese. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as classroom and office aides.

Mission: The St. Liborius Parish Religious Education Program assists parents in the faith formation of their children by providing, through worship, sacraments, prayer, instruction, service and example, the message and values of Jesus Christ, enabling them to recognize and respond to their baptismal calling to use their God-given talents to build the Kingdom of God on earth.

Our role is to activate the Gospel of peace and social justice serving to educate and engage the parish on the issues and the social teachings of the Catholic Church.

Quilters:
This group meets once a week in the parish hall for fellowship and quilting. Quilts are later used as raffle items with proceeds benefiting our parish. We attend 8:00 a.m. Mass every Tuesday morning and then meet in the school hall. Where we work on the quilt until 11:00 a.m. Quilters sell tickets twice a year, Christmas and Easter, after all masses.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA):
RCIA is the process by which those people who are considering joining the Catholic Church prepare to be received into the Church. The RCIA Team provides education, hospitality, and support. Any Catholic who wishes to deepen an understanding of their own faith journey is also welcome

Sacristan:
Sacristans work quietly behind the scenes to ensure that our liturgies run smoothly. They prepare the sacred vessels, linens, and vestments needed for the liturgy, and also clean and put away all items afterwards.

Mission: The Sacristan Ministry prepares and organizes the physical liturgical materials for the clergy and the parish community to celebrate the Eucharistic, to worship and to pray. In various works, Sacristans help the faith community of St. Liborius celebrate and grow in its spiritual life. Sacristans serve Christ and His people.

Secular Franciscans:
The Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) is a Church-approved Lay Order. It is a vocation for life, not a society, association, or organization. Members commit to continual spiritual formation in the spirit of Saint Francis and participation in service and outreach activities.

Mission: The rule and life of the Secular Franciscans is this: to observe the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ by following the example of St. Francis of Assisi, who made Christ the inspiration and the center of his life with God and people. Our goal as Third Order Secular Franciscans is to live the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as shown to us by our beloved St. Francis of Assisi. As members of the Catholic Church, we as members of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans try to foster understanding and personal growth through prayer and service to others.

St. Joseph Rosary Sodality:
The spiritual goals of the sodality are the imitation of the Blessed Mother’s role in the family and the daily prayer of the Rosary. Members pray a decade of the Rosary daily, concentrating on one mystery for an entire month. On the first Sunday of each month, the Sodality as a body prays the Rosary before Mass and receives Communion. The Rosary is said promptly at 8:45 before the 9:30 a.m. Mass. Our meeting immediately follows in the School Hall. All women of the Parish are invited to join our organization.

Mission: Our ministry’s mission is dedicated to the imitation of the Blessed Mother’s role in the family and the daily prayer of the Rosary, to pray as a body before mass and receiving communion, and to provide spiritual leadership for members of St. Liborius and our community. As a compassionate hand of the parish, we not only provide financial assistance but social gatherings as well.

Ushers:
Ushers are often the first encounter parishioners and guests have with the parish. They are at our parish liturgical services to greet you, seat you, answer any questions, and aid in other necessary ways during mass. They facilitate the weekly parish collection in a prompt, reverent way and put it away safely.

Vacation Bible School:
Vacation Bible School is a week of fun-filled faith-based activities and learning for our children. Many adult and teen volunteers are needed. Preschool - Grade Six are invited to attend.

Mission: As Children of God, children and adults come together for a one week summer event to share the Word of God through interactive learning, prayer, and song, emphasizing our baptismal call to follow Jesus in word and action.

Welcoming Committee:
The purpose of the welcoming committee is to promote a feeling of warmth, acceptance and belonging to our parish family. The Welcoming Committee works to bring new members into the life of our parish by inviting new members to worship and get involved in parish ministry.

Mission: The Welcoming Committee of St. Liborius, as ambassadors of Christ, promotes a feeling of warmth, acceptance and belonging to all existing, returning and visiting members to our faith family. We strive to bring fellowship within our parish community by encouraging members through worship, friendships and the sharing of information, to become active members in our St. Liborius Parish family.

Youth Ministry:
This ministry offers spiritual, social and service events focused on inviting young adults to live a more active faith-life. It challenges them to examine various aspects of their faith and to grow in their understanding of the teaching of the Catholic Church. Participants help shape our parish and prepare the youth to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world in word and action. Volunteers are needed to assist in carrying out the activities of this group.

Mission: St. Liborius teens open their hearts to God and embrace new spiritual experiences. We build relationships with our community and parish.
