PPC Pipeline

PPC Pipeline

The Parish Pastoral Council met on Monday, July 11.

Fr. Dennis Spies was welcomed to his first PPC meeting at St. Liborius.  Also welcomed were new members for the 2011-2012 year, Cyndi Mulvihill, Faith Formation Commission Chairperson; Carole Warnke, Parish Life Commission Chairperson; Howard Kaufman, Stewardship Commission Chairperson; and Louis VanderMeer, at-large member.
The new members were introduced to the structure of the council as it relates to the commissions and ministries of the parish.  Fr. Dennis was brought up to date on the work of the council including the goals of the parish as established by council, and the strategies that were formed with input from all ministries of the parish.  Work is to continue on implementing these strategies by council going forward.

New officers of council were discerned for the upcoming year.  Congratulations and thanks go to Art LeMere, Council Chairperson; Mike Smith, Vice-Chairperson; and Jeanette Dargert, Secretary.

As this will be the final PPC Pipeline article I will be writing, I wish to offer my sincere thanks to all council members past and present.  Five years ago when the council was formed, everyone involved knew there was a lot of work ahead.  Look how far we have come.  Thanks to the work and dedication of Fr. Reynaldo Treyes and the original council members, organization and a more efficient channel of communication were established.  Through parish surveys and input from the ministries, goals and strategies were formed.  Council members were very much involved in the establishment of our multi-parish school, Mother Theresa Catholic Academy, and continue to be involved through the capital campaign.

Fr. Dennis and the council going forward are challenged with the task of implementing the strategies and constantly re-evaluating the goals of the parish for relevancy in our constantly changing culture.  Catholic education of our youth and the spiritual growth of our adult community continue to be a priority.  I have full confidence that we have only scratched the surface and we are about to embark on great things throughout the entire faith family of St. Liborius parish.  May the Lord continue the great work He has begun in this.

Outgoing Council Chairperson,
-Craig Mazur
